Khatt's pre-draped saree falls in soft, rosy pink with a gathered drape at the hip. Because the drape is already set, the skirt keeps its sculpted folds, which leaves the bodice free to take over.
The apple-neckline corset is covered in vertical strands of shell-like pieces that lengthen toward the waist. Their pearly sheen reads differently as the light moves, and it frames a criss-cross back that deserves attention too.
A detachable bolero sits over the shoulders, packed with buttons, metallic pieces and crystals in assorted shapes. It gives the sleeves a heavily textured surface that contrasts with the corset's neat vertical lines.
Small pearl studs and a sculpted silver ring are all the jewellery on view. With so much embellishment on the bodice and bolero, the restraint keeps the focus on the embroidery.
Makeup artist Manisha Nath keeps the palette soft, with warm-toned eyes, defined brows and a muted rosy lip. The tones sit close to the pink of the outfit, so the face reads as part of the colour story.
Hairstylist Sunita A styles the hair in long, loose waves with a side parting. The dark, glossy length falls over the shoulders and sets off the pale shell work on the corset.
Photographed by Krishna and styled by Aashna, the shoot uses a dark backdrop and sheer fabric drifting behind her. Against that depth, the pink and pearl tones stand out even more.
